IMPORTANT: About the tickets for the EMAs!

One of the THR readers wanted to notify all people who are considering to buy VIP tickets to the MTV Europe Music Awards, be aware of this:

Basically a website is selling VIP tickets for over £1000 and I wanted to know when the tickets would go on general release.

WELL. They didn’t get back to me, but this is in the Liverpool local paper today:

MTV Europe Music Awards fake tickets warning

Aug 30 2008 by Caroline Innes, Liverpool Echo

BOGUS tickets for this year’s MTV Europe Music Awards in Liverpool are being touted for thousands of pounds on the internet.

Officials at the ECHO arena, which hosts the event on Thursday November 6, are warning fans not to be conned into buying fakes.

Legitimate tickets do not go on sale until September, but a number of websites are already advertising VIP packages for the show, costing more than £1,000 per person.

Tim Banfield, the arena’s general manager, said: “These tickets are not genuine. Official tickets do not go on sale until September and details of how to buy them will be announced in the press over the next few weeks.

“We stress to all fans only to purchase tickets for all ECHO arena events through legitimate organisations.”

Please don’t buy anything until you are SURE they’re genuine. I had seen those tickets and thought they were, so this is a bit dodgy.
