Whether you like it or not, the fact is that Tokio Hotel was a feeling of the bands in 2008. The German band won several awards’ revelation ‘and has even hit the Metallica and Linkin Park in the category of’ Best Live Band ‘on MTV Europe Music Awards.

In an interview with IOL Music, Bill and Tom Kaulitz, Georg Listing and Gustav Schäfer promised to return to Portugal with a new album and talked about the success of the band, their musical preferences and even about the time that the lead singer of Tokio Hotel takes to prepare the famous hairdo ‘mane’.

IOL Music: I began working on the new album?
Bill: Yes, we have started, we’re still at the stage of the creative process. What I can say for now is that studio entered into without any limit on our heads. We are completely free to do what we want and we have tried many things, very different sounds. It is as if carregássemos the button to “reset” and start all over again. Anything is possible, there are no limits. Some songs do not seem to be ours. We are very excited.

What are the plans for 2009? They will return to Portugal this year?
Tom: We are anxious to launch the new album. We hope to reach stores in the spring.
Bill: I’d love to return to Portugal so we have a new tour.

Won several major awards in 2008. They were waiting for that?
Bill: It is crazy (laughs)! We never expected such a thing. It is surreal to think that they won prizes, but we must all to our fans. They have made it possible.

How to deal with the success of the band among fans and the harassment of female admirers?
Tom: We love the harassment (laughter). The truth is that things have changed little for the rest of the band, they still do not have any luck with girls. But I immensely fun to me …
Bill: We love our fans, they are so committed, full of energy and extremely cautious. They live all this with us and accompany us wherever we go. They mean that all this is possible and lead us all over the world. They are spectacular. We have even the best fans in the world.

Some of you have girlfriend? He does not care about the harassment of fans?
Bill: None of us has yet girlfriend.

You never tire of all this success? They have missed being normal teenagers and they can walk the streets without being recognized?
Bill: The success was everything we wanted since we started. Tom and I were in the world of music from the 8, 9 years … We had 15 years when the Tokio Hotel ‘broke’ in Germany. But that does not mean we do not do the same things as other teenagers do. Only grew up under the watchful eye of the media giving too much importance to all that fazíamos. For example, when we were caught drinking the alcohol at a party … (laughter)
Tom: You can be sure that we made fun of … (laughter)

Bill, how long delays with the makeup and fix her hair before the concert?
Tom: Twenty hours … (laughter)
Bill: Now you do not take that long (laughter). Actually until I order quickly - I need some 45 minutes to get ready.

What to do in your free time?
Bill: When we have a day off, we like to sleep as much as possible (laughter).
Georg: Except for Gustav, he was always up early in the morning.
Tom: Yes, but we sleep, eat, see DVDs, we find ourselves with friends and went back to sleep.

What are your favorite bands?
Bill: I always loved the Nena. I hear several different musical styles, but now my favorite artists are Pink and Coldplay.
Georg: I grew up listening to Oasis and the Rolling Stones because of my parents. Now my favorites are Yellowcard.
Gustav: I like Metallica, Slipknot, System of a Down, Audioslave …
